Anthony Leon, General Manager
Anthony was Vice President of Retail Operations, Merchandise & Purchasing and a Director of Step Ahead Investments, the parent company of the 98 Cent Clearance Centers form 1985 to 1998. During that time he over saw the opening of 68 retail locations in Northern California & Nevada. He was responsible for the development of the merchandise model for closeouts and continuity products, and he managed a budget and purchasing plan exceeding 120 million dollars. Anthony has over 24 years of retail buying and merchandise planning experience.
Larry Letendre, Retail Support Manager
Owner operator of four 98 Cent Clearance Centers in Oregon from 1988 to 1999 before selling them to Dollar Tree Stores, Larry has over 30 years in the retail indusry. His varied retail experience includes 5 years as a sales rep of promotional merchandise to independent drug stores; 5 years drug store management; and 19 years as an owner operator of drug and discount stores.
Dan Lashley, Operations Manager
Dan brings to the team over 30 years of retail knowledge. His background includes 15 years of single and multi-unit retail management experience with profit and loss responsibility; 10 years experience with various aspects of supply chain management including merchandise planning, replenishment and allocations; plus 5 year's practical experience in M.I.S. and LAN management.
Jack Meyers, Warehouse Manager
Jack brings both managerial and warehousing skills to the GBS team. He has 15 years experience as Receiving Manager for the 98 Cent Clearance Centers and Warehouse General Manager for Dollar Tree and another 3 years as West Coast Supply Operations Manager for Blockbuster. In these positions, his responsibilities included supplying over a million sq ft of Discount Center start-ups; creating/implementing 10 million dollar operating budgets; and managing over 300 employees.
Renee Weippert, Vice President Business Development
For more than seven years, Renee worked with Goodwill Industries International, Inc. (GII) as a Retail Specialist and Director of Retail Services. Her prior experience in the Goodwill movement, as Director of Operations for Goodwill Industries of Central Florida - coupled with 10 years in traditional retail - gives her a unique perspective on the opportunities and challenges faced by local Goodwill agencies. While Director of Retail Services for GII, Renee led the international office to unprecedented member engagement through the retail consultation program and assisted Goodwill members in optimizing their retail potential.
Committed to the Goodwill movement, Renee retains her passion for Goodwill retail development in her new position as Vice President Business Development for Granite Bay Sales Recovery Services.
Liquidation Facilitators
John Cordell, Liquidation Facilitator
For over 30 years, John has been in the closeout/liquidation business. His experience includes working as a contract rep for many companies selling merchandise to major retailers. He also ran a retail dollar store operation in St. Louis, MO for several years. John has been president of Transworld Liquidation, a closeout/liquidation operation, for 13 years where he connects powerhouse wholesale product with retailers and other volume purchasing professionals.
